For UOI, This morning we worked on our nature detective booklets. We then presented our skits that we started to prepare yesterday. One group still has to go.
On our nature walk, we recreated a spring symphony. Please check out Ms. Jaskolka's blog for the video and more pictures.

For math today, we explored fair and unfair games.
We had two spinners one that was split into halves with one half red, and one half blue. Each time it landed on blue Alister gets a point, each time it lands on red I get a point.
This game is fair.
Then we had a spinner which 2 of 3 colours were red, and 1 of three were blue. Each time it landed on red I got a point, and each time it landed on blue Rayen got a point. This game was not fair because there are more reds than blue. It is more likely to land on red.
Then we displayed cards labelled 1-15. Every time an odd number is picked Esha gets a point, everytime an even number is picked Aashrith gets a point. Is this fair?
At first many said yes, but after counting the amount of odd and even numbers we realised there are 8 odd numbers and 7 even ones so it is not fair!
We then actually did this activity with a partner.
Students then created their own fair game using either a spinner, dice, or numbered cards.
We also put together a game in which students had to roll the dice onto the mat, what ever number they rolled they multiplied it by the row number. If it landed on the mat it was double the points.
Tomorrow students may bring in materials to make their own game.
