The form for the play day will be sent home tomorrow. We got back just in time for dismissal.
Today was our trip to African Lion Safari

We learned some facts about endangered animals, the causes and got to see them up close! We attended an elephant show and went on the river cruise and saw white handed gibbons! Just like the one we sponsored from WWF.

We got to touch the elephant!

Action

WHAT IS ACTION?

Many people think that Action is easy to define. It is something you do, right? But Action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world?

If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life-long mindset they develop.

Taking action can happen at any age. It’s all about how we as parents, educators, and the community, support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents!

If your child performs action at home please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know and they will be acknowledged.

ABOUT ME Kimberley Ramcharan

Hello! I am very excited to be teaching grade 2 at St Jude’s Academy this year. I am looking forward to a lovely year with you and your child. I graduated from the Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto and also did my undergrad in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University. Last year I taught Year 4 in London, England and I also have qualifications for special education and physical education.

Let me tell you a little bit about my philosophy of education; my philosophy of education is the holistic development of the child encompassing their physical, social, mental and spiritual well-being.

Here’s a little bit more about me, I played varsity ice hockey at York University during my undergraduate years and still continue to play as well as run road races mostly half marathons. In the summer I also play fast pitch and work as a personal trainer. As you can tell I love sports and being active.
