For Language today.

We looked at our new spelling words for this week.

This week we are looking at how the letter 'y' can team up with a,e,or o to spell vowel sounds.

eg. 'ay' in say
'ey' in they
'oy' in joy (oi sound)

The words this week are:
1. play
2. say
3. may (not the month May - so there is no capital)
4. tray
5. gray
6. today
7. away
8. they
9. boys
10. joy

For math today we learned how to identify and divide numbers that are divisible by 2,5,10.

We looked at the number 12 and divided it into three groups. We checked if it was divisible by 4,6, and 5. We found out that we cannot divide 12 into 5 groups because there are two leftover.

Hunter explained his thinking and how to share the cookies between the 'students.' He said we have to go 1 by 1 when dividing them into equal groups.

We also discussed numbers that are divisible by 2,5, and 10 and how we can skip count by those numbers to see all of the numbers that are divisible. (The top part of the whiteboard)

After we played a game to challenge students to think about numbers that are divisible by 2,5, and 10.
We realised that there are some numbers that are divisible by 2,5, and 10 like 10, 20, 30, 40...

Then students went on to their worksheet.

For UOI, we continued our lesson on colourful friends and brainstormed ways to show kind acts.

Have a lovely evening!
