Monday!

Today's agenda notes are:
-Math worksheet (everyone finished in class!)
-Raz Kids for 20 minutes
-Year Ahead day tomorrow
-Spelling pg. 57-60
-Write one sentence for each spelling word
-Cursive up to pg 55
-2$ for Western Day Friday
-Also 25 cents for Candy grams Dec 5 and 6 if you wish to send a candy cane candy gram

Tomorrow students will get to experience Grade 3 for the day!
They will be with Miss Chiapetta.
Please use our normal cubby area
Our lunches will be swapped; this means that in Grade 3 students go outside first then come in for lunch after, therefore they will be eating lunch at 11:30.

For morning assembly today Ms. Hayward read us another Scholastic Book Fair book to get us exited and ready for the book fair. Then we acknowledged our November Thinker winners.

Our class recipient is...Rayen!

Then we had math:

For math we reviewed arrays, groups, repeated addition. Today's lesson was on multiplying by 1 and 0.

We started off with our student models at the front.

We had 4 students at the front and asked how many students are there? 4
And how many noses do they have? 1
So our multiplication sentence is 4x1 = 4
Therefore altogether they have 4 noses

We then did this for ears 4x2
Then we added some students and asked about noses again.

6x1=6 noses altogether and 12 ears altogether: solved by 6x2

Then we went over to our cereal station to fill up our cereal bowls.

We had 4 bowls with 1 fruit loop.
Students made the multiplication sentence 4x1=4 fruit loops altogether
Then 4 bowls with no fruit loops 4x0=0 fruit loops

Writing our multiplication sentences for our class models of the student's noses and tails.

Three children with two ears

3 children with NO tails

5 children with NO tails

5 children who were given 'cookies'

Then we worked on our worksheets, students finished it and were given word problems as their challenge.

After we had first lunch and recess.


When we returned we worked on our spelling.

This weeks words are:
1) snake
2) smell
3) still
4) smoke
5) spell
6) swim
7) slice
8) most
9) strike
10) story

We read our little story and had to guess the blend letter this week. They were right on guessing that it is a 's' blend this week.

We then reviewed our tasks to complete in our spelling books.

After we went to music with Mr Oliver.

There was no French today so we spent some more time working on completing our spelling

After we we called for our rehearsal for the Christmas Concert, we practiced singing Stick Beak the Kiwi! We also had to practice the finale. 'Have yourself a Merry Christmas'

Then we had second lunch and recess.


After recess we organised our IB binders, we organised our IB binders into the following categories in our binder:
-Our best work
-What I worked the hardest on
-What I can improve on

Then we got called to practice our Christmas song again.

When we returned we began preparing for our student led conferences and got ready for home.
