Then we worked on our writing from UOI yesterday.

Afterwards we went to PE with Mrs Jans

Today was our math assessment, we went through the test together to understand what the questions were before starting.

They worked hard and used their math knowledge to answer the questions.

After the test, we had first lunch and recess.

When we returned we had our writing assessment. We had to write a letter recount of our day of school. Sound familiar? They worked really hard and used our writing conventions we have been learning.

Afterwards we went to French with Mme. Stella.


During UOI today we looked at push and pull factors. We reviewed the four categoies; social, political, economic, and environmental. We, were given scenarios of push and pull factors of people either:
-pulling towards new country, to meet family, find new jobs, or other better opportunities
-pushing away from their country to escape war, escape terrifying situation, or because there was no money. We had to work together in groups to sort them into the four categories.

After sorting them we discussed each scenario and which category it belong to and WHY. One key understanding we learned today was when people move to a new country to be with their family that was already there that is a social pull factor. To move towards a country because we desire a warmer climate is a pull factor for the warm country in the environment category. If the government of the new country is providing great opportunities for refugees that is a political factor.
