When we were finished we did quiet reading.
Then we went to P.E with Mrs. Jans.
For math today we learned how to transform a data set into a pictograph.
We started off discussing what a survey is and what it is used for. We know a survey is used to collect data.
Then I gave them their survey to conduct in the class they went around to each student and asked what their favourite food was.
We used tally marks to collect the data in groups of 5.
After we totaled up our friends for each food.
Next, we transformed the data into a pictograph.
We know we have to count by twos so we drew 5 happy faces instead of 10 because each happy face represents two children

The key vocabulary we learned today was:
Key: The key tells you how much each picture represents.
Pictograph: A graph that uses pictures to represent data.
Tally: A way to keep track of data in groups of five.
Then, we worked on our worksheets.
The data has been given on one sheet and a chart for students to draw their pictograph is on another sheet.
After we had first lunch and recess.
After recess we had language.
Today for language we worked on finishing up our Song Lee character descriptions.
They described how Song Lee is feeling inside and what she looks like on the outside and then drew a picture of her.
They are up on display come see them!
After we finished our Song Lee drawings we read chapter 2 and began to answer our comprehension questions in small groups. We modeled how to answer questions so that we are giving level 4 answers!
We have to use the question's words to help us answer, for example:
What did Harry bring?
Harry brought green ants but they were really celery sticks with peanut butter and raisins. It's called ants on a log.
After Language we went to French., second lunch and recess.
When we returned we finished our comprehension questions and took them up.
Then we did our science observations, have a look at our rock crystals!
We finished off our day by reviewing our classroom rules. Then got ready for home.
