Everyone looks great in their traditional outfits and green to represent Pakistan.
We started our day off with agendas. Today's notes are:
-Raz Kids - check for a reading assignment
-Math test signed and returned
-Read for 20 mins
-Trip form due Oct 10
-Math Worksheet
-No school Oct 6th or 9th
Then we started our daily 5 stations and they went to PE with Mrs Jans.
After PE, we had math
We started off math with addition baseball to get them thinking about addition sentences. There were two teams. One team pitched an addition sentence to the other team who had to answer it. If they were successful they received a base. Each team played an inning of 3 minutes.

After we moved into our lesson. Today we looked at patterns within addition charts.
They were asked to circle the number 10 and they were so excited to say There is a pattern! It is diagonal! We then looked at the patterns in the rows and columns and realised they increase by one going across or down. After we modeled how to use an addition chart to figure out addition facts that add to 10. They were SO excited to see how an addition chart works! Then they began working on their worksheet, there is another homework sheet to complete as well this long weekend! Important vocabulary we learned today included: addition fact, and sum,
Then is was time for lunch and recess.
After recess we had our new challenge! Every Friday we will be doing minute math to boost our mental math skills. This week they started off with 10 minutes, next week will be 9, then 8, and so on. The goal is to improve our time and score.
After we had our spelling test. Then we worked on literacy which was adding details to sentences. We looked at a picture and used the topic to start the sentence. We analysed a picture of an octopus squeezing a scuba diver and created a detailed sentence together. This included using adjectives to describe nouns. (ex. The spotted octopus...the yummy person)
After we had French.
After French we had second lunch and recess and then it was time to get ready for home because of our International Day festivities!
I gave each of them their passport as a little token for the day, it's just to take home and have.
Here are some pictures from the day. If you have any pictures you would like to share please feel free to e-mail me with them and I can post them.
There was such a great turnout! We had a blast!
Remember there is no school tomorrow or Monday, have a lovely long weekend!!
