Today's day started off with our morning announcements. We had a costume judging contest.

Our morning assembly took longer with the fun events. We went straight to PE with Mrs. Jans.

After PE, we wrote in our agendas. Today's notes were:

-Read for 20 mins
-Spelling & Cursive (due Friday)
-Math unit test Thurs

I know that it will be a busy night so do your best.

we had math. Today was another review day. Today we did a scavenger hunt to find the answer to a riddle: "Why did the Dracula take cough medicine?"

Students had to look around the classroom for addition and subtraction problems that has an alphabet letter attached to it. When they got their sum or difference they had to write the letter that came with it on their worksheet.

Why did the Dracula take cough medicine?
To stop his coffin!😂

After this activity we worked on correcting our previous math worksheets. Tomorrow will be the last day of review, and Thursday will be our test.

Then it was time for first lunch and recess.

After lunch, we had language. Today for language we worked on a recount in letter format. Their task was to recount their weekend as a letter to me. We started off modelling how to brainstorm the events of the weekend and the writing conventions that make their writing successful.

In our writing the success criteria that we came up with was:
-Adjective
-Past tense
-Recount words (First, then, next, after, finally, before, later)
-Letter format
-Capitals
-Organised
-Punctuation
-Spelling

We then began to write our recounts. We will continue writing this tomorrow.

Next, we went to French with Mme. Stella.

After French we had second lunch and recess.

When we went returned we talked about our IB learner profile of the month which is knowledgeable.
We began writing about what we are knowledgeable in and how we share our knowledge. The attitude that goes along with it is independence. So we also wrote about what being independent is and how to show it.

Next we got ready for home and went to our Halloween Dance!

Stay safe and warm tonight if you are going trick or treating! Also if you have extra candy that you don`t desire, please bring it in and we will be donating it to the Eden Community Food Bank for the children who don`t get the opportunity to take part in these activities.
