Wednesday!

Today we started our day off with agendas as usual, today's notes are:
-Spelling and Cursive (both pages 14-17) if incomplete
-Read for 20 minutes
-Food drive donation (Oct 3)
-Math Worksheet
-Orange shirt day Friday
-International Day Materials (anything they want to bring in to prepare our displays)

There is also a recorder form about ordering recorders.

**Also, since there is so many goods from the bake sale we will be selling tomorrow so students can bring their money tomorrow**

Once they finished agendas they went straight to their Daily 5 stations. We are getting better at the pace of our agendas.

Afterwards we had PE with Mrs. Jans

Then we had math.

Today we looked at representing numbers in different ways. We looked at:
Standard form: 138
Base ten form: 1 hundred, 3 tens, 8 units
Word form: One hundred and thirty eight

We set up a scavenger hunt around the class room with pictures of base ten blocks in and students had to travel around the class to find the pictures and write the appropriate way to represent the number.




Afterwards students worked on questions individually.

Then we had lunch and recess OUTSIDE! Today was the bake sale again and since we have so many goods we will be selling again.

After recess we had literacy. we looked at sentence formation today. We started off looking at a few mixed up sentences and putting them into order so that it makes sense. We reviewed our success criteria for sentences which include: capitals, periods, and it makes sense!

After we looked at different sentences including asking sentences, and telling sentences.
We determined that asking sentences are questions and end in a question mark, telling sentences end in a period.

After literacy we had French with Mme Stella.

After French we had second lunch and recess.

Then we had UOI, we looked at the difference of wants and needs.We sorted images and defined what wants and needs are. After we discussed why they belong in those categories. After students created their own image and description of both a want and a need and explained why it is their want, and their need.



After we finished our wants and needs we continued working on our International Day project. The work is looking very good! Can't wait for it!
