Terry Tuesday!

Wow what a day!

Today we started off with agendas. Today's notes were:
-Bake Sale
-Spelling and Cursive pg 14-17 (both books)
-Read for 20 mins
-Welcome back BBQ form
-Math worksheet
-Casual day tomorrow
-International Day materials
-Food drive donation (Oct 3)

Then we went to our Daily 5 stations!

Then we went to PE with Mrs. Jans

After we had math: today we had math centres. Today's learning goal was ordering and comparing numbers from the least to greatest and greatest to least.  We met Gatorman. He only likes BIG numbers...

We made a little bit of a mistake ordering the numbers from the greatest to least. As you can see the hundreds values are the same for a couple of numbers, that's where it got a little confusing so we discussed how we have to start from the hundreds and then move over to the ones when ordering. Why? Because there are 100 ones in the hundreds therefore it is the greater number.

Then we had math centers.

One station was ordering and sorting numbers.

Another station was math games with a partner rolling three dice to form three digit numbers. Then they had to write the greater or less than sign. 

Another station was working with me on a card activity to form the greatest numbers with three cards I gave them and then ordering and comparing the numbers.

The other group worked on the textbook questions.

And then we rotated every 15-20 minutes! The students received a practice worksheet for homework.

After math it was lunch and INDOOR recess (again!) Yikes in September

We had the bake sale. Thank you so much for bringing it some goods!

Then after lunch we had literacy we looked at forming sentences. We reviewed the work we did and corrected it and then continued working on forming sentences. 

After we had our Terry Fox Run, we did it inside the auditorium because of the heat. Students were very excited

After we had French with Mme Stella. 

Then we had second lunch and recess.

After we worked on our International Day preparations! We started making our banners, doing some research with the information we brought in and using our tablets or iPads. We also started working on our displays with the lovely photos. 

Then we had our Terry Fox assembly, and it was time for home!
