Today we had our spelling bee.
We watched and cheered on Amar, Urvi, and Joshua represent our class.
Joshua came out in first place for the grade 2's!!
Congratulation to all competitors, and to all students because all students worked hard to prepare for their in-class competitions as well.
We also had a dress rehearsal for arts night today.
We started a math, and arts lesson today reviewing figures and describing their attributes including shape, size, angles, lengths.
We also talked about Picasso and learned about cuboid art.
Their task was to use figures and shapes to colour and design animals. They are still working on it and wlll continue throughout the week as we rehearse at City Church. They are working on using the correct math vocabulary to describe the figures they are using to make their endangered animals. So a little bit of UOI as well.
Although, Picasso did use some circles and ovals our figures MUST have vertices, and angles.
