Superhero day tomorrow

We had a house game this morning! Students had to eat cookies and milk and then go to sleep.

Zeta won, Kappa came in second and Theta came in third.

We had PE with Miss Yustin and then we had math.

For math today, we learned how to identify and find lines of symmetry. Students were displayed a few figures that showed two congruent figures and were asked to figure out what they notice about them. They were able to extract from their prior knowledge that we were looking a symmetry today!

We reviewed that symmetry means that on both sides of the figure need to be the same.
I then modeled how to use a mira to help draw lines of symmetry. After the student's task was to draw lines of symmetry on figures. They are looking at drawing one, two or two or more lines if it applied to the shape.

After we took it up and students helped draw some lines of symmetry.

We then introduced the term congruent which goes with symmetry which divides a shape into two congruent [the same] parts.

We introduced peer assessments today where students were asked to peer assess one student's presentation.
Loved how engaged and excited they were to do this!

We spend a large majority of the day presenting. Student's videos will be uploaded. Please check out the links for the videos. More will be uploaded for the student's that went today.
