Today we talked about Autism Awareness Day and watched a short video to learn more about it. It was great seeing how open-minded our students were.

Then we went to PE with Miss Yustin.

For math today, we did activity centres related to number patterns.

One centre was figuring out, extending and explaining the pattern rule on tables. Another group had to work on words problems which involved creating a table and completing it with the number pattern. The third group got to try something new and exciting; I created an online  quiz using Kahoot. Student used tablets to answer patterning questions head to head against each other. Points on the computer are calculated based on the speed and accuracy of student's responses. I am learning how to use this to make challenges for homework!! Stay tuned!!

Students were given some time to work on their homework sheets, there is also some work to do on fact families that we learned last term to make sure we don't forget!

After, we had first lunch and recess. When we returned we had our spelling test.

The bonus words were:
2a
1. wouldn't
2. couldn't
3. don't
4. I've
5. they'd

2b.
1. elves
2. people

We then played a game where students had to say 1-2 words and create a story together as a class. We started moving on to saying a sentence each and creating a story.

Then, we had music with Mr. Oliver, and French with Mme. Stella.

After second lunch we had sharing time, and our TRIBES activity which was tossing around a balloon with some sentence starters on it to reflect on our week.
I liked it when..
I was helpful when...
Right now, I feel...

Whereever student's right thumb landed when they caught the balloon is the sentence starter they had to finish. We then had a mini Easter egg hunt inside the classroom. Unfortunately, we couldn't go outside.

Then we had golden time, handed out report cards, and got ready for home.
