Hope everyone is settling well back into their routines!

Today's agenda notes:
-Read or Raz Kids for 20 minutes
-Math worksheet (telling time analog time)
-Start working on my speech (brainstorm and bring the book in)

We had a long assembly today going through the lost and found. Please have a look when you pick up your child if you are missing something.

After agendas we went to PE with Ms. Yustin.

For math:

To start off our joke was:

What has a face, two hands but no body? A CLOCK

The students actually got it right away as they knew we were learning about time.

We reviewed the features of a clock, including the minute hand, hour hand, second hand, the numbers and the 5 minute increments for each number.

We went over how to tell time including times such as.

2:00
2:35
8:15 (to name a few)

We also looked at our clock and tackled a misconception. When the time is 2:55 a lot of us will read the analog clock as 3:55. We looked at how the minute hand moves around and the hour slowly moves as well. So it has not yet reached the 3 yet so we have to stay on the hour and it is really 2:55.

Students were then given mini clocks to arrange the hands to certain times.

After they worked in partners playing a game where they had to clock over a clock and their partner had to write the them and their partner had to give them feedback if it was correct or not.

After the game we started to talk about different ways to say the time which included:

2:45 or quarter to three or forty-five minutes after 2
2:15 or quarter after two or fifteen minutes after 2
2:30 or half past two or thirty minutes after 2

We split the clock into four sections and discussed that every fifteen minutes (the 3,6,9) is a quarter and that the thirty minutes is half.

They worked on their homework sheet and we will continue to learn more about telling time on Monday.

After we had first lunch and recess.

When we returned we started preparing for our cultural artifact sketches. We reminded ourselves what VALUE is and how to appropriately shade.

Then we went to music with Mr. Oliver and French with Mme. Stella.

When we returned after second recess we began the actual sketching of our artifacts.

Here are some sketches.

We had some golden time and some students were able to share and present about their artifacts
