Today for math we had our math test on fractions!
These will be marked and returned to be signed by the middle of next week.
After we had first lunch and recess.
Then we had our spelling test. The bonus words for 2a were:
1. pencil
2. snack
3. ice
4. shock
5. camera
I have sent the blue spelling books back home to be completed on the weekend for students that have not finished their work throughout the week,
Also, on the page before test there is a small note which indicated that your child needs to write their detailed sentences using our spelling words from this past week.
Then we had Music with Mr. Oliver and French with Mme Stella.Check out their blogs.
After second recess we continued talking briefly about wedges. We learned the difference between a single wedge and a double wedge. We added to our KWL chart for screws and wedges.
As we read we also discussed features of non-fiction books. We used the table of contents to help us locate information and ask uestions about what we are going to be reading about. We reviewed what a glossary is and how it can be used as well.
Then we had our math pre-assessment for our next unit on motion geometry. Here are the big ideas for this unit:
• A geometric figure can be described in terms of its location on a grid.
• Figures in a plane can be moved. These movements can be described
in terms of translations (slides), reflections (flips), and rotations (turns).
• Some figures have more than one line of symmetry.
Then we finished off with some Golden time!
