After agendas we had sharing time and shared what we did over the holidays or how we celebrated Christmas.
Then we went to PE with Mrs. Jan and Ms. Yustin.
After PE we had our pre-assessment for our new math unit which is on measurement.
We will be learning about reading time in digital and analog form, measuring temperature, measuring capacity, mass, and money.
After math we had UOI. We read a book titled 'Kwanzaa Kids' to learn about how Kwanzaa is celebrated.
Before reading we brainstormed what we already knew about Kwanzaa, much of this came from our field trip to the Benares Historic House, we also came up with questions of what we want to know about Kwanzaa.
After reading we listed all of what we learned, have a look at everything we came up with!
Then we went to first lunch and recess.
After recess we had some more UOI with art. Today we learned about value which is the degree of lightness to darkness. This is also known as shading. We practices different degrees of shading to prepare for the sketching and shading of our cultural artifact.
Here is a look at some of our work:
Then we went to music with Mr. Oliver and French with Mme. Stella.
When we returned after second break we continued finishing our shading and discussed the celebration of New Years.
We talked about how we celebrated New Years.
After we discussed New Year Resolutions and why people make them.
Then we made our own about what we want to learn, read, imagine, go, do more of, change, want to do, want to try, and improve.
Here is a look at a couple pieces of work so far! We are still working on completing it.
Have a wonderful evening!
